Why we still write CRMs from scratch in 2026
Salesforce and HubSpot are great. Sometimes a custom Laravel CRM is still the right answer.
For most companies, off-the-shelf CRMs are the right answer. Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive — pick one based on size, ICP, and price.
But about 20% of our clients have something genuinely unusual about their sales process. Those are the cases where a custom CRM still wins, even in 2026.
The pattern: high deal size, complex configuration, multi-party sales, or industry-specific workflows that off-the-shelf platforms force you to bend around. If your sales team has been complaining about Salesforce for 3 years and the workarounds are getting baroque, custom is on the table.
